Female designer Zhang Yuhan has created a new car that will be able to drive on roads, ice and water and still look 'stylish'.The car works like a classic hovercraft and will drive from land to water and vice versa without the need to stop. Four high powered fans will be powered by hydrogen fuel cells producing zero emissions and a top speed of 62mph. The car will float on integrated airbags which gives it the ability to change terrain seamlessly.
The Chinese mechanic design graduate created the car for a competition run by Volkswagen which asked designers to come up with a Chinese off-road vehicle which would have go-anywhere capabilities.
Now if you have ever been on a hovercraft you will know they are virtually uncontrollable. So imagine heading down the road in one of these at 62mph and having to take a sharp bend or stop sharply. One can see quite a few Aqua's being written off very quickly! So I wouldn't expect to see these in the new Volkswagen London dealership anytime soon!
