Car theft on the rise in East London

If you live in the Waltham Forest area of London you may want to make sure your car is locked safely away in a garage as latest figures have reported an astonishing 207 vehicles have been stolen in the last month.

This figure is the highest for any London borough and see's a large increase from April's 138 reported stolen vehicle statistics. Police have commented that the majority of the cars are from the cheaper end of the scale and have probably been sold on for scrap. But it would be wise to make sure you secure your car even if it is a Land Rover Defender. West London seems to be the safer area with 4 out of the top 5 thieving hotspots coming from the east and the north. Meanwhile in the UK car theft numbers have dwindled in the last 7 years by almost two thirds.

So remember people make sure your doors are locked and windows are closed properly, don't leave anything on display not matter its value and get and alarm fitted if you car does not already have one!
