Let's get banged up!

Banger racing is still as popular as ever in Britain and people can still be found in used cars every week tearing round dusty tracks, crashing into each other and the safety fences, trying to take the chequered flag and been the last one standing.

Arena Essex just outside Dartford is a good place to take the family for a day out, the thrill of the carnage, noise, smell and competition is enough to get all ages and sexes adrenaline pumping, plus you can not beat a nice hot dog with onions from the burger van washed down with a beer. Or sweets and a can of coke for the kids.

Most racing teams are family orientated as well with sons, brothers, fathers and cousins all playing part in the preparations, repairs and tactics of the race.

Racing tends to run from March to November ending with the Arena Essex Firecracker which attracts around 10,000 fans every year and ends with an almighty fireworks display.

So if your looking to see some good old racing in used cars, Dartford would be a good place to head this weekend.
