Renault and British Gas dance the Electric Boogaloo

A new partnership has been announced between Renault and British Gas with the latter becoming the cheif supplier of charging points for Renault's imminent line of electrical vehicles. This comes on the back of the deal which was struck between British Gas and Nissan and coincides with the Renault-Nissan Alliance.

The partnership will allow British gas to install Electrical Vehicle (EV) charge points in local businesses and homes, so whether you are visiting your local supermarket or a Belfast used Renaults dealer, you will be able to charge your EV.

Private use customers will be charged around £1000 for home installation with a new billing system being set up for the use of electricity for your vehicle. Details on Business prices are yet to be clarified.

Renault are set to launch their brand of EV's later this year with a variety that will suit all needs. The Z.E range will include the Kangoo Van Z.E, the Fluence Z.E, the ZOE and the Twizy. In launching the range Renault are aiming to "make motoring more simple, more comfortable, more technologically advanced and more respectful to the environment."
