Fabrizio Giovanardi to return to Touring Car

This month sees the return of one of touring cars most successful drivers. Fabrizio Giovanardi will be driving for Hartmann Racing in the new Honda Accord at the European Touring Car Cup at the Salzburgring on the 24th of July.

Giovanardi's record speaks for itself with the Italian winning virtually all the major titles in the motor sport including three European championships. He will be teaming up with Austrian Wolfgang Treml and has already stated his intentions for the race season.

"We are definitley aiming for winning the title again. The team have the expertise and the car has the potential. Now it's a matter of how quick we will work to adapt the car to my driving style. The last time I drove a Honda Accord was at Macau in the 2006 World Touring Car Championship and we will have only three test sessions at Salzburg to find a good set-up. In any case I see this opportunity to show that I am still able to be competitive at an international level."

This will be Fabrizio's first race in the ETC Cup and I am sure he will be eager to add the title to his already coveted trophy collection.
