With all the talk of new car sales slumping you would have thought Skoda would be one manufacturer deep in the mire but surprisingly the Czech company are set for a record year.
Sales are up an impressive 20 percent for the first 6 months of 2011 compared to the 2010 sales figures with 454,700 consumers purchasing a new Skoda. Having already sold 24,000 units in the UK this year, June was also the fourth consecutive record month in which 10,000 more cars were sold compared to June last year.
Like Bentley, Skoda also looks to be benefiting from the Chinese market with where they love to buy new Skoda Superb's. The popular model has seen sales grow 42 percent. On the whole Skoda have sold 4 times the amount of cars than in the UK this year, this is probably due to the difference in population size but it is a fantastic result for Skoda's worldwide growth strategy.
