Volvo V60 plug in Hybrid

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Volvo Cars will be unveiling the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid - a virtually production-ready car with carbon dioxide emissions below 50 g/km. The Plug-in Hybrid, which will be launched on the market in 2012, is the result of close cooperation between Volvo Cars and Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall.

"No industry or organisation can tackle the climate challenge all by itself. It is our mission to develop carbon dioxide-lean cars, but a sustainable future must be created jointly by everyone in society. This project shows how cooperation between experts in different areas brings us closer to the transition from individually carbon dioxide-lean products to a climate-smart lifestyle," says Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Cars.
In January 2007, Volvo Cars and Vattenfall launched an industrial partnership whose aim was to test and develop plug-in technology. This cross-border initiative resulted in the foundation of a jointly owned company - V2 Plug-in-Hybrid Vehicle Partnership,
Half the CO2 emissions, full driving pleasure
Development work has been jointly financed. Now the project is on the threshold of introducing the market's first diesel plug-in hybrid. It's an attractive car type that gives the user access to the very best properties of both an electric car and a diesel-powered vehicle: very low fuel consumption and CO2 levels, combined with long range and high performance.
"One important aspect of the project was to retain the Volvo V60's excellent driving pleasure, high safety standard and luxurious comfort. At the same time, average CO2 emissions and fuel consumption will be halved compared with what is available on the market today," says Stefan Jacoby, and adds:
When powered solely by electricity, the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid has a range of up to 50 kilometres. The car's total operating range is up to 1200 km. Carbon dioxide emissions will be an average of 49 grams per kilometre (EU Combined) and fuel consumption will be 1.9 litres per 100 km.
The cost of the battery pack means the plug-in hybrid will be more expensive to buy than a Volvo V60 with a conventional combustion engine. On the other hand, fuel costs will be one-third compared with a conventional combustion engine. The cost of running on electricity in Sweden has been calculated at about 2.50 kronor per 10 km. The exact cost will vary from one market to another.
The plug-in hybrid can be charged via a regular household electricity socket at home or when parked somewhere else. Charging time is about five hours if the car is recharged at home.
Electric power offers a range of benefits
Electrification of the transport sector is an important step in the fight against climate change. Electricity is a highly beneficial fuel:
  • An electric motor is almost four times as efficient as a regular combustion engine. This means that an electrically powered car consumes less energy and thus produces lower emissions, even if it is powered by a blend of electricity sources that include fossil fuels.
  • European electricity production has an emission ceiling. This means that even if all vehicles were to run on electricity, electricity production itself is not allowed to produce more carbon dioxide. This emission ceiling will be gradually lowered over a period of time.
  • Electricity is an excellent source of energy. It does not risk running out, and it can be produced virtually without any CO2 emissions. For instance, Vattenfall is working towards halving the company's emissions by 2030 and becoming climate-neutral by 2050.
  • Emissions from millions of exhaust tailpipes are transferred to a small number of production facilities, which are easier to control and which will operate on the basis of the EU's trade in emission rights, something that does not apply to the transport sector at present.
  • Electric vehicles use relatively little electricity and the increase in consumption will be more than covered by ambitious expansion plans for renewable energy sources throughout Europe. A single wind-power station, for instance, produces sufficient renewable energy to power 3,000 electric cars. Vattenfall will offer buyers of the plug-in hybrid a contract including electricity from renewable sources.
Rapid expansion of renewable electricity production
Electricity production is undergoing rapid expansion. Wind-power is being commercially introduced on a large scale and is continuing to expand, biofuels will replace fossil fuels on a broad front, wave-power is expected to enter commercial operation within ten years, and new technology to clean CO2 emissions from coal-fired power stations is currently under development.
At Volvo Cars, work progresses on the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid in parallel with development of the Volvo C30 Electric, which runs entirely on electricity.
"These two car types complement one another. With a plug-in hybrid the driver is entirely independent of recharging stations when driving long distances. The future electric-car market will feature a mixture of both all-electric cars and plug-in hybrids," says Stefan Jacoby.
The third leg in Volvo Cars' electrification strategy is empowering the upcoming engine generation with hybrid technology.

Volvo V60

The Volvo V60 makes its entry onto the car market with its sights firmly set on giving the all-new S60 sedan model a tough match over the title of "The Most Dynamic Volvo Model Ever".
"Many of the customers who had an advance look at the new V60 during the development process feel that its attitude is at least as sporty as that of the all-new S60," says Volvo Cars Design Director Peter Horbury.
No less than 90 percent of the annual Volvo V60 production of 50,000 cars will find European buyers.

"The typical sports wagon customer is an S60 buyer who would like some extra space and flexibility, but without the slightest compromise on sporty design and exciting driving properties," says Volvo Cars President and CEO Stephen Odell, and adds:
"The competition is razor-sharp and the customers in this segment know exactly what they want. That is why we have further boosted the interior's sense of exclusive quality and packed the car with safety- and comfort-related technical innovations. The result is a truly unique sports wagon, in total harmony with its sporty attitude."
Coupe rather than estate car
The pronounced wedge shape and the slim coupe-like roof line of the new Volvo V60 are accompanied by the shoulder profile along the car's sides, creating a gentle yet powerful double wave from the headlamps at the front to the tail lamps at the rear.

"From the design viewpoint the focus was on making the car as close to a coupe as possible, while retaining that handy extra space at the rear. Our sports wagon does not aim to compete with the traditional estate car. For the customer who wants a lot of load space, there is our V70 or XC70," says Örjan Sterner, head of exterior design for the new Volvo V60. He adds: "The dip in the middle of the double wave visually pushes the car down. This enhances the stance and makes the car look sleeker and lower. The sculpted bonnet and the short overhangs front and rear also emphasise the sports car feel."

Volvo Universe

At the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show, Volvo Car Corporation presents a Scandinavian Design masterpiece for customers with exquisite tastes. The 2011 Volvo Universe Concept is a large, luxurious sedan with a new human-centric design that praises the beautiful lines of classic Volvo models.
“The Volvo Universe Concept offers the world a sneak preview of what people can expect from our next top-of-the-line sedan,” says Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.

Volvo Car Corporation stands with its long-term strategy which is to be a successful, truly global company with products designed based on customers’ needs and lifestyle. “Scandinavian Design is about understanding and caring about people. Volvo Car Corporation aims to be the brand that best interprets what buyers of modern luxury cars want. The Volvo Universe Concept has been designed to spark a subconscious desire and a feeling of eternal beauty. It moves towards the future with its coupe-like roofline and contemporary, solid rear, but it also echoes Volvo’s proud heritage by borrowing design cues from classic models of the past.”

“Just like fine luxury goods, this design feels handcrafted and durable enough to stand the test of time,” says Peter Horbury, Vice President Design at Volvo Car Corporation.

2011 Volvo C30 BEV Review

Volvo introduced to drive a prototype electric car in September 2009. Volvo C30 BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) in this 2010 North American International Auto Show in Detroit will take the company beyond the development process. It includes a complete interior and full instrumentation, as well as improve the battery.

"The first prototype helped us to identify the major technological challenges, such as the battery and security. We have faced these challenges without compromising the Volvo C30 is a cool and fun-to-drive personality. I am very pleased with the result. Electric Volvo C30 BEV in Detroit is a much more complete product, "says Lennart Stegland manager of Volvo Cars Special Vehicles.

The next step is a factory built in 2010, a series of test vehicles. selected users to run the test fleet during the period of two years of trial experience Volvo valuable. Not only technology, but also behavior.

The Swedish Energy Agency supports the project by contributing SEK 150 million to finance it.

Valuable data field

Pure electric cars have different characteristics than the internal combustion engine of the car. Now, Volvo will have the opportunity to examine how people deal with these differences.

"Our data on the test fleet will be useful in the development of Volvo Cars of electric cars. It will also provide crucial information for planning of infrastructure and help define the services needed to make rechargeable cars more attractive option in the future, "says Lennart Stegland.

New tools and graphics

The electric Volvo C30 C30 looks like a regular, which offers the same security, comfort and space than standard car. The most obvious difference inside the car is new tools in the front of the driver. Instruments and the graphics are a bit different than in a classic Volvo. The instrument panel and pleasant fresh shows the speed of the beginning of the road and only the consumption of energy. However, it also incorporates a number of new symbols, as an indicator of battery charge and other relevant information for this type of vehicle.

Driving experience is also different from a normal car. BEV Electric Volvo C30 is not the gear and the engine power is delivered seamlessly, with full power available immediately. "Run with almost no sound is a very special experience. Power is there immediately. We use a lot of time to control the transmission system, which is both comfortable and safe for the driver to manage and use the same battery capacity and optimally at different speeds, "says Lennart Stegland.

As an ordinary Volvo C30 - fun, but without the emissions

An electric motor uses energy much closer to one quarter as engine operating on fossil fuels. This increased efficiency suggests that the interest in electric cars will increase as fuel prices rise and demand for low CO2 emissions by more stringent.

The Volvo C30 is shown in Detroit is powered by lithium ion batteries can be recharged through outlet stations or power or special regular road load. Charging the battery takes about eight hours. If the car is recharged with renewable energy, CO2 emissions could be almost anywhere in the well at the prospect of the wheel.

Top speed is a fully charged battery is about 130 km / h (81 mph). Acceleration from 0-60 mph in less than 11 seconds. Car has a range of up to 150 km (94 miles). This covers the daily need to commute more than 90 percent of all drivers in Europe.

As safe as any other Volvo

The electric motor is mounted under the hood while the batteries (24 kWh) will be installed in the shaft tunnel and the space normally occupied by the gas tank, outside the cabin and away from deformation zones.

"What's more, they are well crystallized and the structure around it added. Electric cars are yet another interesting challenge, we are committed to building the safest cars in the world. Electric, Volvo is as safe as any other new Volvo . And the same rules also apply to the property, guidance and protection in the event of an accident, "says Thomas Broberg, Senior Research Advisor for Safety, Volvo Cars.

Prospects for the electricity market

When it comes to electric cars only, there are several factors that determine its future use. "Consumers need to feel that this car is appealing to both drive and own.'s Why electric cars should be as safe and comfortable and offer the same kind of performance cars with other energy sources," says Paul Gustavsson, director of strategy for the electrification of Volvo Cars, "We believe in this technology and our field test is to demonstrate that electric cars have a considerable market potential. However, providing an attractive car is not enough. What also we must first place a system of scholarships. Technology electric vehicle battery costly economically viable vehicle buyers hope that the authorities and the rest of society will continue in our Volvo Cars "Drive Towards Zero" -. Volvo Cars journey towards zero emissions

The new Volvo S60 has introduced a variety of exterior colors are also two new shades: Copper and Gold Electrum life.

The new chassis dynamics

The new Volvo S60 is the sportiest of Volvo ever built, and during the development process, the computer chassis fine tuning every detail to the driving experience. The result of their work is a new dynamic chassis design, standard on all new Volvo S60.

The steering ratio is 10 percent faster than previous models, which improves steering feel and sharper responses. steering column tube and shrubs have grown thicker stiffer torsional rigidity by 100 percent. This also contributes to a sense of more direct contact with the wheels and the road.

pillar is thicker than the piston sport chassis is the Volvo S80. The resulting increase in stiffness by 47 percent means that the structure of the body will be better able to withstand lateral loads. Springs themselves are shorter and stiffer than before and the Eigen frequency rose to 10 percent. front shock absorber assembly spring rate is increased by 50 percent. Front and rear subframe bushes are up to two times stiffer than previous models. connecting arm bushings are optimized for a sporty, full control.

Fixing the gate at the rear are made of PU (polyurethane) instead of rubber to ensure a better balance between comfort and dynamic control.

Stefan responsible for developing Volvo S60 Sällqvist, explained: ". We spent many weeks of fine-tuning the shock absorbers in the English countryside we drove through the old Roman roads are always and only received a few layers of asphalt over the centuries - the 'ideal environment to find the damping properties. "

Advanced Stability Control

Dynamic Stability and Traction Control (DSTC) in the new Volvo S60 has a number of sophisticated features to increase driving pleasure and safety. The Volvo S60 sedan is the first to market with advanced stability control Volvo. In a new paper sensor is possible to identify any tendency to skid a very early stage. This means that the slip can intervene earlier and more accurately. Advanced stability control is a great asset in driving dynamics consisting of lateral forces.

New traction corner smoother curves

A new dynamic platform to support various electronic systems even more sporty driving experience. Traction Control Corner is a new feature that uses torque vectoring so the car takes curves without problems. This technique is further developed DSTC system. In the light curve, the drive wheels inside the car when braking hard while the outer wheel drive. This allows the driver to take the corner more difficult and reduce the tendency to understeer.

Advanced braking functions integrated

Advanced braking system is an important part of the dynamic driving characteristics, the new Volvo S60. Various activities together to provide maximum stopping distance in all scenarios. The technology includes:

Ready Brake Alert can predict when an emergency braking is required. Brake applied lightly on the brake discs even before the driver depresses the brake pedal.

Hydraulic Brake Assist helps the driver to slow down the shortest distance possible. In an emergency, when the driver presses the brake pedal hard enough or fast, Hydraulic Brake Assist to help you make the ABS system efficiently, thus reducing the overall stopping distance.

Optimized hydraulic brakes have a system that strengthens the deceleration during braking of the company to compensate for hydraulic power brake vacuum is low.

Fading Brake Support is used for hydraulic brake pressure gradually build for the long, hard braking. This helps reduce the risk of brake pedal feel and maintain.

The new S60 is equipped with an electronic parking brake as standard.

FOUR-C option

All versions of the new Volvo S60 can be specified with the FOUR-C active chassis, which has been modified and refined for better control and comfort. This is an advanced framework for automatic adjustment using a number of sensors to continuously monitor the car's performance. In a split second, the dampers are adjusted according to the driving situation.

Three alternative chassis settings, all this is to touch the driver of a button to change the nature of car: Comfort, Sport or Advanced.

Engine program

At launch, the Volvo S60 will be available with a choice of two diesel and gasoline engines. All engines have been developed to meet the highest standards of sporty driving dynamics with fuel economy competitive.

Two five-cylinder turbodiesel

D5 Twin Turbo High Performance produced 205 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes 7.8 seconds (manual and automatic) and the maximum speed is 146 mph (manual) and 143 km / h (automatic). D5 in the latest version, introduced in spring 2009, requirements for performance and handling are met by the installation of two turbochargers of different sizes, a takeover by the other and give more power within ' a wider range rev. The result is the response of the attention and quick acceleration at all speeds, with transfers without turbo engine speed range between the two turbochargers. Other properties of the two turbos combines high performance and low fuel consumption 47.9mpg (EU combined, preliminary figure).

The advanced fuel injection valve that uses piezoelectric fuel for the exact distribution of fuel into the combustion chamber with a combustion efficiency and reduced emissions accordingly.

Short trips reduce fuel consumption

It is also the new D3 engine developed 163hp 2.0-liter and 400 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes 9.2 seconds (manual and automatic) and top speed is 137 mph (manual) and 134 km / h (automatic).

2.0D a new five-cylinder engine is basically the same as the current 2.4D, but the stroke volume is reduced when a shorter stroke to optimize fuel consumption. It is a manual gearbox now has the fuel consumption 54.3mpg (combined, preliminary figure).

The engine has been optimized for fuel consumption and fuel injection system has another type of piezoelectric valve fuel compared with the D5 engine. These valves keep fuel consumption to a minimum by pulse injection exceptionally fast and accurate under pressure. The result is a much more efficient combustion.

In order to make the car better handling characteristics, turbocharger developed for high torque at low revs.

Both turbo-diesel is available in a six-speed manual transmission as standard or optional six-speed automatic transmission. maintenance-free particle filter that traps about 95 percent of soot particles as standard in both engines.

high performance T6 petrol engine

The gasoline engine generates 304 horsepower 3.0-liter T6 and 440 Nm of torque, improved acceleration and smoother on the road. Acceleration from 0 to 62 mph takes 6.5 seconds and top speed is 155 mph. Specialists in Volvo Cars engines have reduced fuel consumption by about 10 percent to 27.7 miles per gallon (EU combined figure, preliminary).

Engine power is transmitted to the wheels via Volvo's Geartronic six-speed generation second automatic transmission. New valves and lower friction means faster gear changes than before. AWD (All Wheel Drive) is standard on the T6.

Diesel DRIVe below 115 g / km

During the first year of the production version of the new Volvo S60 DRIVe introduces a new 1.6-liter diesel engine. The fuel consumption is going to be an impressive 65.7mpg (combined, preliminary figure), which corresponds to CO2 emissions of less than about 115 g / km. Improved engine produces 115 hp and 270 Nm of torque, and available only with six-speed manual transmission.

Later, during the first year of production, the all new Volvo S60 also available with a variant GTDi 2.0 (T5), which produces 240 hp and 320 Nm of torque. In addition, there will be a 1.6 liter engine available in two versions GTDi: 180 horsepower (T4) and 150 hp (T3) with a torque of 240 Nm

All engines will be available in combination GTDi Volvo Powershift transmission gearbox with optional six-speed automatic or six-speed manual as standard. The Powershift concept works as two manual gearboxes in parallel with separate clutches, leading to rapid and low fuel consumption.

Pedestrian Detection Full Auto Brake

The new Volvo S60 has advanced pedestrian detection function of integral braking system. pedestrian detection consists of a newly developed radar is integrated with the grille of the car, the camera is installed in front of the inside rear view mirror and the Central Unit. Radar to detect in front of the car and decide the distance. Camera to determine which type of object it is.

The complete game of the automatic brake technology also complies with the vehicle in front that are stationary or moving in the same direction as the car with the system.

much wider field radar newly created double vision mode ensures that pedestrians crossing point on the road can be detected early. The camera has a higher resolution than the automatic brake of the previous generation that can detect the pattern of pedestrian movement.

"The automatic braking system requires that the object is confirmed by radar and camera. Thanks to advanced sensor technology used, it is now possible to increase the full braking power," says Thomas Broberg, Volvo Security Adviser Cars.

"Detecting pedestrians with sufficient reliability has been a challenging task. Our innovative technology is programmed to follow a model of pedestrian movement and to calculate whether he or she is likely to step on the road in front of the car. The system can detect pedestrians who are 80 cm high and above, ie, including children. "

The new technology allows full braking

In an emergency the driver first receives a warning sound, combined with a flashing light in the head-up display windshield. To create an immediate and intuitive, similar to the warning of a fire stop. Meanwhile, the car is pre-loaded. If the driver does not react to the warning and a crash is imminent, is full braking power automatically.

This technique has the same limitations as the human eye, and just like us, it "sees" a very dark and bad weather.

pedestrian detection with automatic braking can completely avoid a collision with a pedestrian at speeds of up to 21 mph if the driver does not react in time. At higher speeds, the emphasis is on reducing the car's speed as possible before impact. Reduce the speed is 21 mph.

Statistics show that the car's speed is of considerable importance for the outcome of the accident. A low impact speed means that the risk of serious injury is greatly reduced. For example, if the speed is cut from 30 mph to 15 mph, with fully automatic pedestrian detection braking is expected to reduce mortality risk by nearly 20 percent and in some cases up to 85 percent.

City Safety

The all new Volvo S60 also cited as a safety standard, as seen on its big brother - the XC60. The system can reduce or even eliminate the low-speed rear impacts at speeds up to 18 mph.

Additional safety systems available:

Driver Alert Control (DAC). The unique technology feel tired and distracted drivers. This function monitors the progress of the vehicle between the lane signs and warns the driver if his model of leadership changes at random or out of control.

Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) allows the detection of vehicles in the blind spot behind the two sides of the car. A lamp beside the appropriate door mirror lights up to alert the driver of danger.

Bi-Xenon headlamps are linked following the curve of the road. To get the best possible light while driving in the dark on twisting roads.

Lane Departure Warning alerts the driver if the car goes through the entire course with no signs of the direction indicators are used.

2011 Volvo Universe Concept Review

Volvo Concept Universe 2011-Shanghai Motor Show a prototype sedan Volvo supermodel news. Recognition of the Chinese automotive market is not only in its infancy in Shanghai as well as Universe design concept, which is a completely new interface, which should create a discussion. The sloping roofline and rear guard concept coupe-sedan trend.

The concept of the universe is based on an entirely new structure SPA - Scalable Arhictecture. As its name implies, is used in medium-size models in other models, and the production version of the universe (in the hope that he changed his name ...), the first to use the new SPA.

Despite the fact that small details, not the transmission of data is transferred, so that we can be sure of what the creation of this exercise. Volvo Concept Universe uses a minimalist design Volvo late, the other high-tech features such as rear seat passengers iPad integration. It appears Volvo is also intended to develop a competition for new interior colors and materials used for the luxury label. Although the appearance of developments and changes, the interior is really where luxury cars are these days.

European electricity production emissions. This means that even if all vehicles were electric power production by itself does not produce more carbon dioxide. This issue is gradually lowered over time.

Electricity is an excellent source of energy. It is not in danger of collapse, and can produce virtually no emissions of CO2. For example, Vattenfall aims to halve emissions by 2030 and become carbon-neutral by 2050.

A 2011-Shanghai Auto Show, Volvo Car Corporation shows is a masterpiece of Scandinavian design for car buyers with exquisite taste.

Volvo Universe Concept is a large luxury sedan with a design language centered on the new man who honors the beautiful lines of classic Volvo models.

Decor Universe Concept Volvo has a nice, grown in an environment so that the user focused and refreshingly uncomplicated. It needs the driver in front and behind the casual comfort.

In the environment of the pilot in command, intuitive controls and a touch screen, approaching the hand when the driver when he goes against - with all controlled from a seat that is inspired by the sun ultra-comfortable.

Passengers in the back seat is embraced by pure comfort. The inner form in the back seat and become part of the center environment.

The sensor dynamics and dark colors of the front seats chaining backwards until it is transformed into an oasis of calm taillight. Volvo Concept Universe is full of classic shapes, materials and textures that are used with a button to create a special experience of modern luxury.

"Volvo Universe Concept is particularly sophisticated, but simple all the resources that make it easy Volvo Masters. It is increasingly appreciated that the combinations of design and technology of modern luxury car buyers. These developments pave the way for success. We convinced that a particular brand of luxury, has a bright future, "says Peter Horbury.

"Our goal is to be the brand that best understands what buyers of luxury cars today. We look forward to hearing what customers most demanding Chinese think about this concept of luxury. Later, we show the design in Europe and the U.S. To put it in the global context, as we aim for all our cars, "said Stefan Jacoby, President and CEO of Volvo Car Corporation.

2013 Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid

Volvo Car Corporation has announced a new Volvo V60 and hybrid reveals the Geneva Motor Show in March 2011. Volvo V60 hybrid developed in collaboration with the Swedish power company Vattenfall, when they allowed the fuel economy of 124 mpg in the European combined cycle with 150 mpg fuel consumption and emissions of carbon dioxide are less than 50 g / km.

cheaper fuel costs

When powered solely by electricity, the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid is a range of up to 50 km. Auto operating range of up to 1200 km. Carbon dioxide emissions are on average 49 grams per kilometer (combined cycle) and fuel consumption is 1.9 liters per 100 km.

The cost of battery life: the hybrid is more expensive to buy than the Volvo V60, with a traditional combustion engine. On the other hand, fuel costs are one third compared to traditional internal combustion engines. Current electricity price in Sweden was calculated at around 2.50 SEK 10 km. The exact price varies from one market to another.

Plug-in hybrid can be recharged on a regular household electrical outlet when parked at home or elsewhere. Charging time is about five hours if the car can be recharged at home.

The electricity has many advantages

Electrification of the transport sector is an important step in combating climate change. Electricity is very useful for fuel:

An electric motor is almost four times more efficient than the normal combustion engine. This means that an electrically powered car uses less energy and therefore produce fewer emissions, even if it is financed by a mix of energy sources than fossil fuels.

Exhaust emissions from millions of exhaust pipes is transferred to a small number of production facilities, which are easier to control, which operates on the basis of the EU emissions trading scheme, which does not apply to the transport sector time.

The electric cars use relatively little electricity, and consumption growth will be more than covered by the ambitious plans for expansion of renewable energies in Europe. A wind power station, for example, produces enough renewable energy to power electric cars in 3000. Vattenfall offers buyers a hybrid contract, including renewable energy sources for electricity.

The rapid expansion of renewable electricity

Electricity production is booming. Wind power is the large-scale commercial introduction and continues growing, biofuels replace fossil fuels on a broad front, wave expected to enter commercial service in ten years, and new technologies to clean CO2 emissions from Coal Coal is currently under development.

At Volvo Cars, the work is progressing on the Volvo V60 Plug-in hybrid parallel with the development of electric Volvo C30, which runs exclusively on electricity.

"Both cars are complementary. With a plug-in hybrid driver is totally independent charging stations when driving long distances. Future electric cars on the market will feature a mixture of two all-electric and hybrid Rechargeable, "said Stefan Jacoby.

The third stage of the electrification strategy of Volvo Cars is the engine empowering the next generation of hybrid technology.

2011 Volvo XC90 Review

2011 Volvo XC90 carries five passengers in its standard configuration, and can accommodate seven people, including the optional third row of seats. 2011 Volvo XC90 was introduced as the safest SUVs on the market. Volvo went up was to demonstrate the safety of crossing extraordinary reversal using a specially designed catapult its research center on security for a live demonstration of the strength of the XC90 roof. Members of the press were present, and the XC90 rolled four times on the roof during the test with little or no intrusion into the passenger cabin.

Anti-theft, child safety locks, traction control, brake assist, folding tailgate, USB, Radio Data System, the radio antenna, AM / FM, CD player, automatic headlights, halogen headlights, fog machines, control climate, interior pollen and dust particles from the air filter, Rear Air Controls, Rear Air Conditioning Unit, an outside temperature gauge to monitor tire pressure, tachometer, voice control, trip computer, cruise control , Controls on the steering wheel is present in the Volvo XC90 2011 3.2 R-Design.

Since 1994, management certification of all technicians R12 air conditioning system from the clutches of the old A / C and replace it with R12, R134a. Although it is not R134a ozone depletion (ODP), is not what is considered "modest" global warming (GWP) is 1300

With more emphasis on global warming and the world becomes more "green", this is a matter of time before and R134a is prohibited. Let's take a look at the three most likely replacement for him.

Likely choice

Funny how things seem to go full circle in the automotive industry. The original producer of R134a, DuPont, is the most likely substitute for cooling, once sanctified. The new refrigerant known as HFO-1234yf. This is a direct delivery to replace R134a and requires no major changes in the A / C. PCA is almost nonexistent at 4 and existing detection A / C leak can leak 1234yf HFO-system.

Volvo S60 Review

The Volvo S60 is an entry level sedan and the Volvo is ready to compete with the big giants in this segment, which is already committed, and sometimes even the turbocharged V6 versions.

What is unique about the Volvo S60 is the style and not the only thing the company is based.

The Volvo S60 looks like a car more functional than a car that is supposed to be luxury and pampering. For example, the car's interior is designed in a very practical and should fully with ergonomic seats and lumbar adjustments even that is a benefit that is offered, but a necessity. There are many caucus for the Volvo S60 to take to the segment in which he ventured.

That in itself is a good car and has credibility, but in comparison, you may fall again in many ways, but unfortunately the car world has to do with who is the best and why. The Volvo S60 is available in three trim levels, 2.5T, T5 and R. The 2.5T is well established from the interior and exterior. The S60 R is the car the higher end of all these versions, as it offers many more features.

Volvo has been the reduction of the gap between them and the design of its German competitors - Audi, BMW, Mercedes and - and the S60 is a perfect example. Its lines are smooth and attractive, offering more features and luxury in the past, and his journey captures the excitement of driving more efficiently. S60 2009 is over 08 and do not see big changes as the luxury sport sedan Volvo. It is available in three versions: 2.5T, 2.5T AWD and T5.

The 2.5T and T5 are both front-wheel drive, four wheel drive is only an option for 2.5T and the three versions, four door, five luxury sport sedans. As the most exclusive and brother over the S40, S60 each plate comes with a turbocharged engine. The 2.5T is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five, which may be 208 hp and 19/28 mpg for under (city / highway). T5 has a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five engine, with 18/26 mpg more powerful 257 hp and achieve mileage. Both come standard with a five-speed Geartronic automatic. On the ground, can reach 0-60 in 6.6 seconds with the T5 and 7.2 seconds with the 2.5T, according to Volvo.

Offer the luxury Volvo S60 makes leather interior, gear knob and steering wheel steering. 2.5T 's elegant and refined interior is complete with real wood inlays, if the T5 uses brushed aluminum. In 2009, the 2.5T comes standard with auto dimming rearview mirror and the other speakers. T5 adds Active Bi-Xenon headlights and wipers, the route guidance.

The S60 is equipped with a number of security features, including a four-wheel antilock brakes, front and side airbags, side curtain airbags for front and rear, stability control and whiplash protection.
